About the Author

Award Winning Author Katherine Kayne writes the sort of romantic fantasy she has always liked to read in her own beach chair. With horses and hula and magic and flowers and happily ever after… with heroines to cheer for and heroes strong enough to follow their heroine’s lead. Her debut novel, Bound in Flame, is inspired by the horsewomen of Hawai‘i in the early 1900s. After seeing her first pa‘u princess riding in a King Kamehameha Day parade, Kayne was hooked. She spent five years of research and work with Hawai‘i Island’s pa‘u riding community to get her story right. Bound in Flame is the first book of a planned series, the Hawaiian Ladies’ Riding Society.

Kayne resides in Seattle and counts herself fortunate to live in Hawaii a part of each year. Sadly, at this stage of her life, she is horseless as she has not figured out how to stuff one under her airplane seat. Her two dogs and a very understanding husband have had to suffice.
